Day 1 – Airport /Colombo Over Night Colombo

After arriving in Sri Lanka, you will be greeted by both our representive and your chauffeur guide at the airport who will then take bring you to Colombo- the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, in just under an hour.

Once settled in, the chauffeur will drive you to the Kelaniya Temple which is only about a 30-minute drive from your hotel. The Kelaniya temple is believed to have been visited by the Buddha during his 3rd and final visit to Sri Lanka. Its history therefore goes before 500 BC. On the way back, you will also experience a mini city tour with a stop at the famous Gangarama Temple.

Day 2 - Colombo/Pinnawala/Sigiriya Over Night Sigiriya

On day 2, you will embark on a journey that will take you back to Sri Lanka’s history. On the way you will get to experience the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage- the largest captive elephant breeding centre in the world established in 1975. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the orphaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka.

After lunch, the next stop will be at Sigiriya- the world-famous rock fortress. The 360-meter-high-rock converted to a fortress by the parricidal King Kashyapa I. The surrounding lands of the rock were transformed and Sigiriya was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

Day 3 – Sigiriya/Polonnaruwa/Sigiriya Over Night Sigiriya

After having appreciation for one kingdom, on the 3rd day you will visit Sri Lanka’s second Kingdom- Polonnaruwa. Unlike Anuradhapura, the monuments at Polonnaruwa are concentrated in clusters within close proximity. Polonnaruwa’s architectural features, sculptures, paintings and writings on stone have its own identity not only by Buddhism but also by Hinduism as well. UNESCO declared Polonnaruwa a World Heritage Site in 1982.

After lunch, you will be taken to experience one of Sri Lanka’s famous national parks. Located in the North Central Province, you will get to visit either the Minneriya or Kavdulla National parks. Both are home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, wild buffaloes, spotted deer, sloth bears, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy your guided safari, where you can witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, as well as take in the stunning scenery of the park.

Day 4 – Sigiriya/Dambulla/Kandy Over Night Kandy

Day 4 kickstarts with a visit to Dambulla- a famous cave-dwelling since several centuries before Christ. The entire cave temple complex has exquisite murals covering 2100 m2 and 160 statues of different figures in various postures resembling a mixture of religious and sculptures. Dambulla Cave Temple was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

After lunch, you will proceed to visit Dalada Maligawa (Temple of Tooth Relic). This is one of the most venerated Buddhist shrines in the world as it is the home of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. It is located in the picturesque valley in the hill country. In the 4th century AD Prince Dantha and Princess Hemamala brought the sacred Tooth relic to Sri Lanka, from India. Then the sacred Tooth Relic became the palladium of the Sri Lankan Kings and was well guarded in all the kingdoms.

Later in the evening, relax and view the cultural show in Kandy that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. The show features traditional dance performances, drumming, and other cultural performances. The highlight of the show is the Kandyan dance, a form of dance that originated in the Kandyan Kingdom and is characterized by its graceful movements and colorful costumes. The show also includes performances of other traditional dances, such as the ves dance, the devil dance, and the mask dance. In addition to the dance performances, you will also get to enjoy and experience traditional music and drumming performances.

Day 5 – Kandy /Nuwara Eliya Over Night Nuwara Eliya

On day 5, you will head towards Nuwara Eliya, also known as Sri Lanka's "Little England.” Located in the central highlands, this charming town is famous for its picturesque tea plantations, stunning waterfalls, and colonial architecture. You will get to experience a visit to a tea factory while having breathtaking views of the landscape.

Towards the evening, you will get to visit the stunning Gregory lake while relaxing in the cool climate, enjoying the stunning scenery.

Day 6- Nuwara Eliya/Yala Over Night Yala

In today’s itinerary you will get to visit the Yala National Park after breakfast- one of Sri Lanka's most popular and revered natural reserves. Located in the southeast of the country, this park is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, crocodiles, and a vast number of bird species.

Day 7 – Yala/Galle/Bentota Over Night Bentota

On the 7th day of your journey, you will be taken to visit the famous Galle Dutch Fort after having your breakfast. Originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century, the fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered as one of the best-preserved examples of a fortified city built by Europeans in South and Southeast Asia.

In the evening, you will arrive at Bentota- a famous sport for it’s amazing beach and water sports. Depending on your choice, you can experience some water sports relax by the beach.

Day 8 – Bentota/Airport

On your last day at the paradise island, continue to relax at Bentota. as you get ready to end your journey and get dropped off at the airport.
